ICSO Safety and Crime information

The Winter weather is causing a significant number of accidents.  Snow tieres and four-wheel drive vehicles help to maintain traction and control in poor road conditions.  They do not, however, assist in stopping in an assured clear distance.  Please slow down when road conditions are slippery.  Allow for enough time and distance to safely stop on snow and ice.

ICSO Safety and Crime Information

Car/deer accidents are very common this time of year.  We encourage all drivers to slow down and monitor the roadways for signs of deer.  The number of accidents involving deer is certainly increasing in Ingham County.  Please remember that braking in a straight line is the best way to avoid a deer in the roadway.  DO NOT SWERVE.  This may cause your vehicle to enter the oncoming traffic lane or leave the roadyway.
